Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
MA Utility Solutions ("we", "us", "our") is an independent UK brokerage helping homeowners and businesses find better deals on energy, water, solar and building trades. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data when you use our website or contact us, in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
You can contact us about anything in this policy at hello@mautilitysolutions.co.uk.
2. What data we collect
We only collect data that you provide to us directly, primarily through our contact and feedback forms. This may include:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Postcode
- Service(s) you're interested in or have used
- Details of your enquiry or feedback you choose to share
We do not collect financial, banking or payment card details through our website, and we never ask for passwords or account credentials for your existing suppliers.
3. How we use your data
We use the data you provide to:
- Respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation
- Compare deals across the market on your behalf, once authorised (e.g. via a Letter of Authority)
- Manage your account and any ongoing service with us
- Improve our website and services based on feedback
- Meet our legal, regulatory and contractual obligations
Our legal basis for processing is typically your consent (for enquiries and feedback), the steps necessary to enter into or perform a contract (once you engage us), and our legitimate interests in running and improving the business.
4. Who we share data with
We only share personal data where necessary, and never sell it. Third parties we may share data with include:
- Form processing service (Web3Forms) — used to route enquiry and feedback form submissions to us.
- Microsoft 365 — used for email and, for business customers, appointment booking via Microsoft Bookings.
- Cloudflare — our website hosting and content delivery provider.
- Energy, water and solar suppliers — only where you have authorised us to act on your behalf (e.g. via a Letter of Authority), and only to the extent needed to obtain comparisons or process a switch.
We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Cookies
Our website keeps things simple: we do not use analytics or advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. The only external resource we load is Google Fonts (for the Inter typeface used across the site), which may involve a connection to Google's font servers when a page loads.
6. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above — typically for the duration of our relationship with you plus a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting or regulatory requirements. Feedback submitted without consent to publish is retained only for internal review purposes.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request erasure of your data, in certain circumstances
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@mautilitysolutions.co.uk.
8. Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please contact us first via our Complaints Procedure page so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK's supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.
